Being at school every day counts.

If your child is absent one day per week, this quickly adds up to two months of missed school in a year.

Every day counts is an initiative aiming to improve attendance at school. The initiative promotes four key messages:

  • all children should be enrolled at school and attend on every school day
  • schools should monitor, communicate and implement strategies to improve regular school attendance
  • truanting can place a student in unsafe situations and impact on their future employability and life choices
  • attendance at school is the responsibility of everyone in the community.

Find out more about the Every day counts initiative from Education Queensland.

Being At School - Lockdown

Being at school every day counts... even while in Lockdown.

We are providing a variety of opportunities for children to keep going with some of our basic, but essential, learning activities.

They can participate by:

  • using their year Level Matrix using a device or pen and paper
  • joining us shortly on TEAMS
  • contacting their teacher through Showbie, Class Dojo or parent emails (whichever option your teacher uses)

# The Year Level Matrix was emailed to all parents and is also on the school website home page, under Home Learning @ WSS

# You can also find a parent information sheet on Microsoft Teams on this same page.

# All class teachers communicate to parents and students via Email, Showbie or Class Dojo

Please reach out if you need assistance accessing any of these.
